Faith, Marriage, and Personal Growth

Jes and Annie discussed her conversion to Christianity at 28 and her subsequent journey in faith. Annie shared her experience of writing a book, "Astounding Truths," aimed at helping believers deepen their understanding of the Bible. They also talked about the challenges of being a military spouse and the importance of community and faith in overcoming loneliness. Annie emphasized the value of sanctification and growing closer to Christ, while Jes inquired about advice for building a strong marriage. The conversation highlighted Annie's life message of helping people grow in their faith and understanding of the Bible.

Annie shared her life journey, including her experience as a military wife and the birth of her daughter Lucy, who played a significant role in her spiritual transformation. She described writing her first book, inspired by holding her son Levi, who was born with a cleft lip. The book consists of 100 short chapters explaining scriptures and contains four main sections: 25 traits of God, God's desire for His people, The Curious Parts of the Bible, and stories of God equipping His people. 

She shared examples from each section, including Joseph's story in Genesis, a “Yo-Mama” roast in 1 Kings, Psalm 139 about God's sovereignty over life, and Colossians 3 about working for the Lord. 

Annie also mentioned her approach to sharing biblical teachings through video content on Instagram, aiming to reach people who prefer video over reading.

Sovereignty of God 

Annie shared her focus on God's sovereignty and consistency. Despite our personal fluctuations, God remains steadfast in His promises, which she finds comforting amid life's chaos. 

She touched on the importance of meditating on spiritual thoughts throughout the day and the value of short, encouraging posts that can help with daily reflection. 

Annie discussed her journey as an author, sharing her struggle as a high extrovert to focus on writing and how she finds discipline in obeying God's calling despite the challenges. She emphasized the importance of growth and sanctification through her work and expressed her love for feedback to improve. 

Annie also shared that her next book will focus on the relevance of Bible characters to modern-day readers, grouping 40 characters into themes of sinners, faithful, and leaders to highlight lessons for personal growth. She encouraged listeners to trust in God's timeline and to embrace patience and learning in their own journeys.
