THE EARLY DAYS

Jules grew up in the church and she knew how to check all of the boxes, but by junior year, she was empty inside. She turned to the party lifestyle to fill the void.

She went on a Young Life beach retreat her freshman year of college and had a new encounter with The Lord. While walking on the beach, she realized that she didn’t have to “check all the boxes” of the beach (climbing dunes, swimming, walking, etct) in order to enjoy the beach. Rather, she looked at the ocean and saw a picture of how big and vast and deep God is. She realized that being in love with God isn’t “checking the boxes”, its standing at the ocean’s edge and falling back into the waves and letting the love of God wash over you time and time again. Each wave is a reminder that God is faithful. He gives us wave upon wave of His grace.

What a beautiful picture of the love of The Father!

FRUIT IN THE DESERT

After this experience, Jules was on fire for The Lord! She told God that she would go to the ends of the earth for Him. At the same time, she went through a very challenging season where all of her security and comfort was pulled away from her. She cried out, “Lord, I said I would go to the ends of the earth for you, I didn’t want to go to the pit with you!”

Jules hit rock bottom, but she learned she was actually landing on the Rock of Ages.

After she left this season, she heard the Lord say: “Would you go back to the desert to get the fruit that you received on the other side?”

In the darkest season of her life, The Lord was gracious enough to bring such beautiful fruit and even lead Jules to the man that would become her husband!

The Lord will not leave you orphaned! He has a purpose and a plan in each season of your lift. He can bring fruit out of the desert!

MILITARY LIFE

Jules and her husband have moved 14 times in their marriage. She has known the loneliness of always being the new person. This led to her desire to get to know more about the character of Holy Spirit.

Anchor deep in the God of Ages. In Him, you are whole, complete, not lacking any good thing.

COCOONING

There might be a season were you need to practice “cocooning”. Like the little caterpillar on the leaf… at the right time he starts to create his cocoon and he is called away from everything he has ever known. In the cocoon he starts to physically dissolve. Everything is changing inside the cocoon.

There may be things in your life that need to dissolve away in order to make room for the new things that God is trying to do. There are new things that you will need to be ready for the season that you are about to walk into. This process may feel raw and painful, but the wings are coming!

Lord, show up and show off like only you can!

WAITING FOR YOUR WINGS

When you get in the Word, you are reminded that people have walked this path before.

God is not surprised by your situation. You may be shaking, but you are not shaken.

In Christ, you are whole, complete, lacking no good thing. In the raw, allow God to reform you. You will find the peace and reformation in the midst of the struggle.

Joy comes in the morning.

The tree in the winter time isn’t nervous or embarrassed that it doesn’t have leaves. Sometimes we are so focused on looking at other people’s fruit that we don’t realize God is trying to work on our truck. The tree is not concerned… it knows that Spring is coming.

God brings winter so that Spring can bring up bulbs that He has already planted.
