She has become well respected on the topics of clutter from a biblical perspective (who knew there was such a thing?). For anyone who falls somewhere between "I'll just trust God" and stocking a ten-year supply of canned pinto beans in the pantry, Ready for Anything  gives finite simple steps for being proactive rather than reactive—helping readers prepare their mind, heart and home for any unfortunate circumstance. Full of stories and humor along with facts, tips and lists, Lipp offers a down-to-earth guide that will show you how to face the unexpected with confidence, relying on God's strength and plan rather than giving in to fear and anxiety.

Her step-by-step plan is easy to implement and will help anyone become a better steward of their resources as well as be the neighbor who can help in a crisis rather than needing help themselves. Lipp’s goal is to equip reader to be the front line of helpers in any crisis from a natural disaster to a friend’s job loss.

What can we do to be prepared for the times in our lives when an unexpected crisis arises? Even in the midst of a crisis, the crisis is not going to be the only thing happening. We must be prepared for a variety of things happening at once. A big part of intentional living is critical thinking and planning ahead.

Simple Preparedness To Do List:

  • Get a container of water

  • Pull together some one dollar bills ($100 is a good goal)

  • 2 weeks worth of food on hand

“I was always overdrawn in my life, but through a lot of age and a little bit of wisdom, I’ve learned that this is not the way that God has intended me to live.”

When we commit our plans to God, things are at work that we can only see in retrospect.

Crises are rude! They show up unexpectedly and they always bring a friend. BUT even when we can’t control the situation, we are adored by the One who is in control! You are not alone. You are not forgotten in this situation.

We must sit in the “not knowing” but using wisdom to prepare and faith to trust God. This is a beautiful meshing that allows us to be at rest.

It’s in the trenches where we learn the best lessons in life. This is where priorities are realigned. This is where our true values are revealed.

How can I serve people better in a crisis? We get ready so that we can serve the people who God has put in our paths? We must start thinking of service in a whole new way during this time.

Only the Lord can take a disaster and turn it into something for His glory. This does not discount the pain, but in the midst of the pain and heartbreak, God’s love is breaking through in new and different ways.

The lives we had before COVID were built with more fragility than we had realized. We had to always keep going in order to not upset the delicate balance that we had constructed. But here is the truth:

  • You are more nimble and more resilient than you know.

  • Some of the things that you had held up as idols were keeping you held down. This is a time when you can strip off the expectations. God is wooing you and this is the time to tune in and surrender.

  • You are more prepared than you know. God has given you everything we need for life and godliness in Him.

“If you want to go where you’ve never been before, you’re going to have to leave some things behind.” You must let go of the idols in order to go new places with The Lord.
